Kiltimagh & District Community Development Project

The Kiltimagh Community Development Project was set up in 1996 an is based at Enterprise House, Aiden Street, Kiltimagh. The Project is managed on a voluntary basis by members of the local community and representatives from local voluntary groups. They represent Lone Parents, Women, Men, the Unemployed, the Elderly, Youth and People with Disabilities.

The project employs three full-times staff: Project Co-ordinator, Outreach Worker and Project Administrator and shares a Development Arts Worker with Ballina and Louisbourgh C.D.P.'s The project is funded by the Department of Social, Community and Family Affairs and supported by West Training & Development Support Agency.

Key Areas of Work

  • Promoting, supporting and facilitating Community Development through the participation and involvement of local people.
  • Responding to key issues and identifying needs in relation to marginalised groups and those experiencing poverty and isolation.
  • Providing administrative resources, support, information to individuals on a wide range of Social and Community issues.
  • Organising Adult/Community Education in partnership with Mayo V.E.C. and St. Louis Community School.

The vision of the Kiltimagh Community Development Project is to continue to develop a dynamic community facility for use by groups experiencing Social Exclusion.  For further information contact:
